Mcgrail The Celtic Cross
Each of the quadrants of the ancient Celtic cross holds significance, though there are numerous variations of that significance. For the McGrail family, the fourth wine of our Celtic Symbols Series, the Celtic Cross, represents the seasons, the varietals, and honors Rachel “Cross” McGrail. The Celctic Cross is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot.
Deep, dark purple color with aromas of plum, lilac, violets, lavender, blackberry, blueberry, and black olive. On the palate, there are flavors of dark plums, graphite, nutmeg and vanilla. The wine is very smooth and the tannins are soft and pleasing to the tongue. Great with dark chocolate and aged cheddar cheese. Pair this delicious wine with a fine Filet Mignon drizzled with a balsamic reduction sauce.
